Duties and Responsibilities Key Duties & Responsibilities Reporting to the Mechanical Foreman, the successful applicant will, among other duties, be responsible for: ❖ Assisting in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings and measurements to support fabrication work. ❖ Assisting in selecting and preparing appropriate welding equipment, tools and materials according to job requirements. ❖ Preparing materials and components for welding, including cutting materials to the required measurements using appropriate equipment. ❖ Operating angle grinders and other approved tools to prepare surfaces and components for welding. ❖ Assisting in aligning, positioning and clamping components using appropriate measuring instruments and tools. ❖ Assisting with welding operations using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment under appropriate supervision. ❖ Assisting with the repair of machinery, equipment and other metal components through welding and fabrication work. ❖ Ensuring that welding tools and equipment are properly handled, maintained and stored after use. ❖ Complying with all Safety, Health and Environmental policies, procedures and safe working practices. ❖ Performing any other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
